Traditional Threads

Women are connected by thread. In Italy women bond over their linen closets. Many times after a special dinner, if I have made a comment over the table clothes hemstitching, I will be pulled into the other room to sit with the ladies and chat while looking at linen. They tell yarns while twisting the fringe of a hand woven towels.  I can't explain it but each time I become more connected to the family of women who create things for each other. Women who weave love into things for their children. For me these traditions have stronger foundation than a house and are what tie families together for generations to come.
