Like Daisy Arts, BeDeLightful is committed to maintaining the tradition
of fine craftsmanship and its ability to support and
preserve the quality of life for the maker and the
recipient. We donate 10% of our profits to sustainable
development projects and actively invest in projects
that protect women and children.
Daisy's interest in preserving the handmade grew from an independent documentary
she made about crafts people in the region of Umbria, Italy. Many craft studios told
her that generations of craftsmen would soon end with them; thus the title of the documentary, "The Last Generation".
"I wondered what could be done to avoid the disappearance of these beautiful handmade crafts. I had such a wonderful time doing the segment on bookbinding that I signed on as an apprentice.
After 20 years I continue to be in awe of their mastery of this difficult craft. Our line has been expanded to include a wide range
of hand crafted fair trade products that support the
quality of peoples lives through art. I have visited
over thirty countries and believe in the power of art
with natural materials to maintain tradition and protect
the quality life for everyone."
I am happy to be able to share with you the unique aesthetic that comes from hundreds of years of
making things by hand. I believe all our lives
have been sewn together by what women do with love and
thread. This site is about building relationships
with people and the beauty they create. We hope you will
join us in what we believe is the essence of a quality
life, the integrity of what surrounds us is a big part
of that. We use natural and reclaimed
materials for the bounty of character and never sell
things that will ever be thrown away. Protecting the
beauty of the environment and all of the earths
inhabitants is our mission. Join the tribe that lives

Our Design Ethic: Restorative design
creates a positive effect throughout the entire system.
Nothing should be thrown away. Our products will increase in
value for the system over time. We use natural and
reclaimed materials, pay our craftspeople fairly and enhance
the quality of their lives and lives of those we do business
with. All our product creates a comfortable rich aesthetic
that enhances harmony in our existence. We promote and
invest in sustainable development including clean stoves,
gardens, clean energy, and classroom materials that help
students create the world they deserve.
